Join our lecture at the upcoming MISDOOM 2020
The second symposium on disinformation in open media

On 27 October 2020 ACED will give a lecture during MISDOOM 2020 organised by Leiden University. At this Multidisciplinary International Symposium on Disinformation in Open Online Media our Head of Technologies Jasper Schelling and Peter van der Putten will share some preliminary results from Reverb Channel (formerly known as Bursting the Bubble).
Reverb Channel is a data-driven research programme, that focuses on the impact of contemporary applications of data mining and machine learning in digital news media. The aim is to spark a debate with the general public around the transparency of the application of these methods, and create better public understanding and awareness of the possibilities and limitations of these technologies.
Over the past period we’ve been working on a pilot project to develop a platform that allows data scientists, artists and media professionals to carry out data-driven experiments with news from Dutch news sources.
For this project, ACED collaborates with Media Technology (MSc) at Leiden University and Data Engineering (BSc) at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Reverb Channel has been honoured with a grant from SIDN Fund.
