Are you a journalist and looking for exciting ways to present stories? Would you like to learn more about the possibilities of image and experimental journalistic productions? Nowadays, journalism is going through a transition. Due to the development of technology, image has become a major part in storytelling. Media organizations are adapting to these changes. They are aware of the need to distinguish themselves, and try to come up with new ways of storytelling to engage with a contemporary audience.
On 13, 14 and 16 February, ACED will provide a workshop for journalists and designers. Hyper Journalism is a three day program where you as a journalist or researcher get a chance to discover and execute new forms of storytelling together with talented designers. A collaborative format in which the analytical research expertise of journalists and the visual conceptual ability of designers will reinforce each other.
- The session will be supervised by Noortje van Eekelen and Belle Phromchanya (ACED)
- Admission is free, make a reservation via firstname.lastname@example.org.
- The workshop days start at 10:00 and are finished at 17:00.
- The program takes place at Sandberg Instituut, Overschiestraat 188, Amsterdam
ACED is an international interdisciplinary platform for design and journalism. We facilitate media organizations in discovering and creating new forms of experimental journalistic productions, that resonate with a contemporary audience. In parallel, we conduct research on how design and journalism are able to strengthen each other.
Sandberg Instituut, responsible for the Masters’ programmes of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, has the aim to prepare talented designers and artists for the outside world at the highest level. At the MA Design department, design research and artistic growth has priority, although different directions are presented and designers are challenged to go off the beaten path.
