Patty Jansen is a graphic artist, researcher and producer. With a background in (fashion) design, art history and Artistic Research she has become increasingly interested in the representation of history and collective memory in the changing media landscape. In her repeatedly published research Networked Collective Memory she investigated the influence of the digital network on the visual development of collective memories such as 911 & MH17. Jansen is fascinated by human ideas of time: the past, present and future and the reporting of this. The accompanying visual symbolism and how it can and will change its meaning play an important role in her fascination and work. Within ACED Jansen focuses mainly on research and organizational activities.
